Valve Position Monitor
ASD-7000 — Smart Valve Positioner with HART, Foundation Fieldbus & Profibus
The ASD-7000 is our flagship smart digital positioner — engineered for the most demanding modulating control applications in hazardous areas. With ATEX and IECEx Flameproof certification, full HART 7 digital communication, optional Foundation Fieldbus and Profibus, SIL 2 certification, and partial stroke testing (PST), the ASD-7000 brings predictive-maintenance-grade diagnostics to Class I Division 1 service. Its diaphragm and torque-motor I/P mechanism delivers superior tolerance to dirty instrument air and high vibration compared to piezo-based competitive positioners.
Features
- ATEX / IECEx Flameproof (Ex d IIB T6 Gb) — Zone 1 hazardous area approved
- HART 7th generation digital communication (standard)
- Foundation Fieldbus and Profibus PA options
- SIL 2 capable as single device (IEC 61508); SIL 3 in redundant configuration
- Partial stroke testing (PST) and valve signature diagnostics
- Diaphragm / torque-motor I/P — tolerant of 5-micron air, not 40-micron piezo-grade
- Single-acting or double-acting on same unit — no separate model required
- Non-contact hall-effect position sensor — no mechanical wear
- One-touch auto-calibration completes in under 60 seconds
- Wide operating temperature range: −40°C to +85°C
- LCD display with push-button local configuration
Options
- 4 x SPDT mechanical limit switches
- 4 x inductive sensors
- 2 x Hermetically-sealed magnetic sensor
- 4 – 20mA output position transmitter
LSB-7000 Series
Specifications
Typical applications
- Critical control loops in refining, petrochemical, and chemical plants requiring Zone 1 / Division 1 certification
- Safety instrumented systems (SIS) where SIL 2 or SIL 3 final-element certification is required
- Anti-surge control on compressor recycle lines (requires fast, accurate positioning)
- Compressor station and pipeline control valves where vibration would degrade piezo positioners
- Offshore platform control valves (with SS316 housing) in salt-air environments
- Hydrogen processing, ammonia, and other IIC-gas-group applications
- Any control valve where partial stroke testing (PST) is required for predictive maintenance
Variants & options
- Communication: HART 7 (standard), Foundation Fieldbus, or Profibus PA
- Feedback type: rotary (R) for quarter-turn actuators, linear (L) for sliding-stem actuators
- Housing: aluminum die-cast or 316 stainless steel
- Conduit entry: ½” NPT or M20 × 1.5
- Position transmitter output: 4–20 mA back to DCS (optional)
- Limit switch outputs: up to two integral SPDT switches
