FR-20 — Precision Air Filter Regulator (Aluminum or 316 Stainless Steel)
Introduction
The FR-20 is our precision air filter regulator — engineered for instrument-quality air supply to valve positioners, solenoid valves, and pneumatic actuators in process plant service. Available in aluminum die-cast for standard industrial environments or 316 stainless steel for offshore, marine, sour-gas, pharmaceutical, and aggressive chemical environments, the FR-20 combines a 5-micron filter element, precision pressure regulation, self-relief function, optional auto-drain, and a stainless steel pressure gauge in a compact, NAMUR-mountable package. The extended-temperature option supports outdoor installation from −40°C to +80°C.

Specifications
When to specify stainless steel
The 316 stainless steel housing is required in any environment where aluminum will corrode or degrade prematurely. Specify SS316 for:
- Offshore platforms and marine vessels (continuous salt-spray exposure)
- Coastal facilities (salt air corrosion)
- Sour-gas service (H₂S exposure requiring NACE MR0175 compliance)
- Chlorine, hydrochloric acid, or other halogen atmospheres
- Pharmaceutical and biotech facilities (cleanability and washdown requirements)
- Food and beverage production (washdown with caustic cleaning chemicals)
- Pulp and paper bleach plants
- Any installation that will be cleaned with aggressive chemicals
